Nature of the Service

Brown County Released Inmates is an independent reference website. It is not connected with a government office and does not maintain official arrest, jail, court, parole, or corrections records. The site cannot confirm a person's present custody status, order or carry out a release, amend a public record, submit a filing, or act for a visitor before an Illinois agency or court.

Its purpose is to point visitors toward relevant Brown County and Illinois public resources and to provide access to third-party research tools. Any official action or confirmation must come from the agency, facility, clerk, or other custodian responsible for the underlying record.

Acceptable Use Rules

You agree to use the site and any information reached through it lawfully and without interfering with other visitors. In particular, you must not:

• Break any local, Illinois, federal, or other applicable law
• Use information to stalk, harass, intimidate, or threaten a person
• Base employment, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on site content

No Consumer Reports

Brown County Released Inmates is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not supply background checks, credit reports, consumer reports, or screening services. Its advertising partners do not provide those services through this site. By using the site, you agree that its content and linked search results will not be used for:

• Hiring, firing, promotion, retention, or other employment decisions
• Tenant selection, housing access, or rental screening
• Creditworthiness, lending, insurance coverage, or premium decisions
• Licensing, permits, benefits, or government-program eligibility

Custody status, release information, court entries, and public records can change quickly. Nothing published here is an official statement by the Brown County Sheriff, an Illinois correctional agency, a court, a jail, or any other government office. Verify material with the record's originating authority.

Limits of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Brown County Released Inmates, its owners, operators, contributors, and service partners will not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or other damages arising from access to, reliance on, inability to use, or use of the site or any linked resource. This limitation applies even when the possibility of loss has been communicated.

Your Duty to Indemnify

Illinois Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that may properly proceed in court must be filed in a court of competent jurisdiction located within Illinois.

Severability of Provisions

If a court finds any provision invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or adjusted only to the minimum extent necessary. Every remaining part of these Terms & Conditions will continue in force.
